Newsletter No.04
November 2007
Welcome to the November newsletter. A lot has been said about ranking with Google, Yahoo, etc. So I thought I would share some of my views about the topic. If you need any further information on any of the topics covered, please contact me via email peter.king@kwdacs.com.auGoogle is just the Start
Yes it is important to rank highly in search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. but let’s not forget your existing customers. Search engines are just one way of attracting customers. If your web site is not supplying your existing customers what they need they will look elsewhere. A good indicator of your web site providing what your customer needs is “have they got your web site in their favourites?”
Is Computer Training Necessary?
Most people believe they can get by without any training. I heard a story where a young lady decided to create and print out her own wedding invitations. She spent most of the day (over 50 invitations), typing in the people’s name and address, printing the invitation, then deleting the details and typing in the next person’s details, etc. How surprised was she when she heard of mail merge! What took her most of the day would have taken her about a one or two. What are you doing that could take you less time if you are trained?Avoiding Common Email Mistakes.
E-mail is now one of the most important forms of communications tools. Unfortunately, mistakes in your e-mail usage will affect our business. Here are some mistakes to avoid:
1. Vague or nonexistent subject line..
2. Changing the topic without changing the subject.
3. Including multiple subjects in one note.
4. Sending before thinking..
5. Misaddressed recipients
I have listed just five but it is important we get it right the first time.
