Tips on using Microsoft Products

Using Outlook:

• Using Colour Categories, you can easily personalise and add categories to any type of information.
• Colour your messages from a particular person by choosing the Organise feature from the Tools menu
• Quickly display several days side by side in Calendar. In the date picker, drag over the dates that you want to view.

Using Word:

• Create Word Templates to Save Time
• Use the Mail Merge feature when sending the same letter to many clients.
• To insert a page break, press CTRL+ENTER

Using Excel:

• Look at the grey bar at the bottom of the screen to quickly see the sum or average of a group of cells by selecting the appropriate cells.
• Make your data more useful by using the Sort and Filter feature.
• To change rows into to columns (and vice versa, select the row or column you want to change, by using the Transpose feature.

Using Access:

• To create a shortcut, drag a database object in an Access project or Access database to the desktop
• To stop a macro while it's running and then single step through it, press CTRL+BREAK
• To sort records on partial field values, use the Advanced Filter/Sort dialog box

Using PowerPoint:

• Change all your fonts at once by using the Replace Fonts command on the Format menu.
• When you're running an automatic slide show, to stop or restart it, press S or PLUS SIGN
• Go to the first or next hyperlink on a slide by pressing TAB.
